Jacques Hall is a residential special school for young people aged 11 to 18 who have experienced severe behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Jacques Hall provides a safe, supportive and challenging environment where troubled young people have the chance to learn and grow. Often young people placed with us have experienced abuse, neglect and emotional deprivation from an early age. These experiences have left them with a profound lack of trust and hope, with few personal resources to build a sense of self-worth.

Jacques Hall provides an opportunity to change by offering a positive environment of reliable, responsive personal care and by providing education and leisure programmes that are broad based and challenging. The ethos at Jacques Hall is non-authoritarian and all staff are encouraged to recognise the young person's perspective because it is their reality.

All our young people are regarded as equal, with their own attitudes, values, feelings and ideas. We believe that positive approaches produce positive changes within a culture of positive regard.

We provide:

  • A broad and balanced curriculum in excellent purpose built facilities
  • Integrated care, education and therapy programmes
  • Flexible 38, 40, 44 and 52 week programmes
  • Specialist therapy and consultation
  • Small group living
  • Life skills programmes working towards semi-independence
  • High staff to pupil ratio

Placements are normally long term, and are flexible for 38, 40, 44 and 52 weeks of the year, depending on individual need. Jacques Hall can provide places for up to 21 pupils.
