Jacques Hall Care
Many young people who come to Jacques Hall will have had a pattern of placement disruption which has affected their ability to trust and build effective working relationships. We aim to break the cycle of disruptions and offer every young person stability. This is the first step towards helping them to resolve the often complex problems that they have and placement stability is a priority for us.
Jacques Hall provides a warm and caring environment that promotes learning and growth. Through positive role modelling, within an environment where cause and effect are highlighted and mistakes allowed, the young person can create positive change by increasingly accepting responsibility for their actions. Jacques Hall staff support the young people in learning and understanding the basic norms, values and expectations of acceptable behaviour.
Each young person has individually tailored care and behaviour management programmes that address their self-care, health, emotional and behavioural needs and ensure that they are given the best possible chance of success. Central to each young person's life at Jacques Hall is their key worker, a staff member who is committed to all aspects of their life including their physical and emotional health, contact with families, social workers and friends, personal interests, their educational and cultural development.
Key workers ensure that each individual's care programme is personal, relevant and responsive.
We are keen to work with placing authorities to develop care programmes which work towards young people returning to care settings in a family environment, wherever possible. Our individualised programmes ensure that our work is purposeful for each young person and can therefore be tailored to work through any transitions planned for them.
