Eastwood Grange Activities

All pupils are offered a range of constructive leisure activities, both during and after school. A full range of sports, recreational and outdoor pursuit amenities are utilised both locally and nationally and we have a purpose-built sports hall and separate playing areas for basketball and 5-a-side football within the school grounds.

Activities are chosen to be interesting and exciting for those pupils taking part in them and designed to meet the particular pupil needs. In turn the activities offer the opportunity to develop social skills, meet other young people and develop self-esteem and self-confidence through success.

May Day 2011

The glorious weather brought in many visitors to this years Ashover May Day Carnival, which was held on Monday 2nd May. Eastwood Grange was pleased to participate once again in the form of a tombola stall. Jessica and Kate (with a little help from Mikey) were running the stall on the day and raised the huge amount of £400, which will be given back to the community, once it has been established by the Student Council, to which local charity the monies raised should be awarded.

There has been much work carried out leading up to this event; cake baking and donation of prizes, etc. To round the day up nicely; we were awarded the rosette for ‘Best Stall’, which was most gratefully and ecstatically received.
