Rossendale School Accommodation and facilities

Rossendale School is located in five acres of it's own grounds on the West Pennine moors. This natural environment helps to create a calm and restful location for young people with challenging behaviours to be educated. Rossendale School provides a garden for the pupils in addition to an all weather playing surface. Other leisure activities are conducted away from the school in order to give pupils access to facilities within the local community.

Primary classes are housed in the barn area attached to the main farmhouse and class bases are specifically designed to create a warm and caring atmosphere with high quality resources to meet individual needs. Secondary classes have specialist facilities to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum including specialist areas for art, design and technology, food studies, ICT, mathematics and science.

Accommodation is within the farmhouse on the school site with further houses in a nearby small town. The residential accommodation is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as a residential special school and is subject to inspection as required by the Care Standards Act 2000.
