A local Clinical Governance plan monitors all activity and maintains standards. For example the site in 2008 achieved accreditation with Carf (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) and was also re-accredited with IIP (Investors in People) award.
CARF Accreditation
The Priory Highbank Centre received the maximum 3 year CARF accreditation in May 2008. CARF is an independent, internationally recognised body that reinforces Priory Highbank Centre's position as a provider of the highest quality rehabilitation services for people with acquired brain injury.
CARF, formerly known as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, has given the Priory Highbank Centre the highest level of accreditation following a rigorous review process.
To determine the conformance to CARF standards, a team of professional CARF surveyors personally visited the Priory Highbank Centre to interview people, review documents, and observe services. The Priory team demonstrated that its programmes and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.
What is CARF?
The "Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Services" (CARF) is an international accreditation and standard setting organisation that was established in the USA in 1966. CARF currently accredits over 38,000 programmes in USA, Canada and Europe, the vast majority being in USA.
CARF is a way of making sure that everything we do is beneficial to our clients, their relatives, our staff or anyone else involved with the Priory Centre Highbank. It also enables us to demonstrate that what we do has a positive effect on the lives of the people we are trying to help.
