The Priory Widnes

Overview

Priory Widnes is a 72-bedded low and medium secure hospital offering high quality, individualised care, treatment and rehabilitation for men and women aged 18+ who are detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) or who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) or degenerative brain disorder.

There are 24 low secure beds over two units, one female and one male and 12 medium secure beds for male patients. There is also a specialist 12-bedded medium secure unit and two 12-bedded low secure units, both for adult males with an acquired brain injury.

We care for patients with a wide range of mental health issues, including those with personality disorder, those with a forensic or substance misuse history and those with a history of abuse and self harm. The hospital's safe, secure and supportive environment enables patients to maximise their life opportunities and live within the lowest level of security possible.
