Funding at The Priory Hospital Glasgow

The hospital treats patients who are privately funded or who are funded by the NHS.

Self-funding

Patients who wish to self-fund will be asked to make an initial set payment on admission either by credit card, bankers draft or cash. Details of the charges are available on request from the admissions team. You will also be asked to sign a financial agreement to guarantee further payments.

Private medical insurance

We are recognised by all major private medical insurers, such as Bupa, Axa PPP, Aviva and many others. It is advised that you contact your insurer to check that adequate cover is available before incurring any costs.

NHS

We have been working closely with the NHS since 1993.

Patients wishing to be funded by the NHS need to discuss funding matters with their own GP or consultant. The GP or consultant will then apply for funding from the local health board.

We work with all the major Scottish Health Boards especially in relation to the funding of eating disorders, OCD and patients with a dual diagnosis.

For alcohol and drug rehabilitation, you may wish to speak to your community addiction team or social services and ask about funding for the Priory’s residential treatment programme.

Corporate

The Priory Hospital Glasgow works with many large companies throughout Scotland and will make direct financial arrangements with corporate clients if private medical insurance is not an option.
