Treatment and care

The hospital's consultant-led, highly specialist multidisciplinary team has a wealth of clinical and research experience and offers a collaborative therapeutic approach to rehabilitation through specific evidence-based treatments tailored to individual patient needs. Our team includes staff from a variety of disciplines in the hospital including nursing, medical, occupational therapy, social work and psychology. Careplans therefore reflect this multidisciplinary approach as we strive to meet the needs of our patients in a holistic manner.

Our specialist treatment programmes include:

Sex Offender Treatment

For patients with a history of sex offending behaviour. This involves both individual and group work based on cognitive behavioural therapy with a strong emphasis on relapse prevention.

Forensic Addiction Programme

Designed specifically to address the tripartite problems of mental illness/disorder, substance abuse and offending behaviour within one dedicated setting.

Personality Disorder Programme

For patients presenting dissocial, narcissistic, paranoid or borderline personality disorders which would result in abnormally aggressive or seriously irresponsible behaviour. The aim of the treatment programme is to address patients' deficits to enable them to lead a more pro-social lifestyle for the future, as well as reducing their level of risk to themselves and others.
