Coxlease School
Accommodation and facilities
Coxlease School is near Lyndhurst, Hampshire in the heart of the New Forest. It is well situated for easy access across the south of the country, close to the M27 and M3, approximately two hours drive and one and a half hours by train from London and just five minutes from Brockenhurst train station. Set in ten acres of grounds and woodland Coxlease School provides students with ample space and a safe environment in which to learn, have fun and grow. Outdoor facilities include a games area and an adventure area for developing outdoor skills.
The sports hall provides for football, basketball, archery and other indoor sports. Housed in the same complex is our superbly equipped fitness centre and having also developed a working farm facility on site we have a range of livestock and organic crop cultivation to provide exciting learning opportunities which are maximised for all areas of the curriculum. Coxlease School has a wild life pond which provides opportunities for our young people to understand conservation issues. These unique facilities provide opportunities for the children in local schools to work alongside our young people.
Residential accommodation is split into nine small homely bases for up to seven boys both on and off site. All pupils have single bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities, which are well furnished with a comfortable sleeping area and a work/play area. The living and dining areas have a homely feel and everyone is involved in maintaining a pleasant environment in which to live.
Classrooms and specialist rooms are well equipped and a great deal of attention is paid to promoting students' self-esteem by displaying work and rewarding achievements.
