Unsted Park School Outcomes and achievements
Unsted Park School is committed to developing academic achievement alongside social and communication skills so that young people can integrate effectively into an ever demanding and complex society. When our young people leave us they will be able to make independent life choices and move along the pathway to achieving greater independence as they reach adulthood. Unsted Park School enables students to:
- Learn how to manage their behaviour in social settings
- Learn how to manage their anxieties
- Develop independent skills
- Get the most out of their education
- Learn in an environment that brings out the best in them
- Become empowered to make choices for their future
- Have fun and develop friendships
At Unsted Park School students learn communication and social skills, which are transferable to their chosen destination after leaving us. There is a need to make practical preparations for transition, to give leaving students the opportunity to embed the skills they have developed in their new situations.
Support is offered well in advance of their departure date and close contact is maintained with the local Connexions advisers so that preparations for leaving Unsted Park School are made in good time.
Students wishing to continue studying at their local colleges will receive help in choosing appropriate courses and in negotiating appropriate support there. Those choosing to move on to further education are guided through the entry process which includes help to determine ongoing support required.
