North Hill House Overview
Principal: Sharon Edney
North Hill House is a purpose built specialist residential and day school for boys aged 7 to 18 with Asperger's Syndrome and associated disorders. The school has been specifically designed to allow boys with Asperger's Syndrome (AS), high functioning autism and associated disorders to thrive effectively in an ever demanding and complex society. This is achieved by developing personalised predictable routines with high levels of individual support. Our aim is to provide a stimulating educational environment where students can develop a responsible positive outlook and a sense of personal achievement. We also provide young people with confidence and an understanding of the social worlds in which they function and aim to facilitate the highest possible educational attainments during their school career.
We provide:
- Individual education, socialisation and communication programmes
- A broad curriculum with nationally accredited qualifications
- Support strategies for self-management and independence
- Preparation for successful integration into wider society
North Hill House offers flexible arrangements for termly and weekly boarding. We are also pleased to accommodate day students on a full, part-time or local authority respite basis. The school year runs for three terms across 38 weeks and can provide places for up to 62 students.
