Tadley Horizon School Accommodation and facilities
Tadley Horizon is located within the Hampshire village of Tadley, with excellent links to the M3 Junction 6 and M4 Junction 12. Running parallel to Tadley Common, the school is set in a semi-rural location within four acres of beautifully mature grounds, providing pupils with a safe, tranquil environment in which to learn and grow.
The Common is heathland designated a site of specific scientific interest and provides rich educational material for study and involvement in the conservation of wild life and the heath. Sport and recreational facilities include a purpose-built sports hall, hard and soft play areas, five-a-side football pitch, jogging track and a nature trail. Swimming and gymnastics are also available in the local area.
In the residential setting the development of appropriate social behaviours and personal skills is continued. By using a variety of community-based environments we offer children additional opportunities to practice and rehearse these vital skills in real life settings. The residential programme focuses on education, socialisation and developing group dynamics. Each pupil has a dedicated key worker who develops a close understanding of the individuals' needs.
Children live in small groups in houses within the school. The houses provide a welcoming and homely environment and include lounges, quiet rooms and single bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. The spacious communal dining room overlooks the gardens and provides outdoor table and seating areas in the Summer. Pupils have a good choice of well-balanced meals and are encouraged to think sensibly about what they are eating.
