The Priory Clinic Canterbury Accessing treatment and funding

GP referrals are preferred and are usually made to the individual specialist although this is not essential. Should you not wish to go via your GP you can self refer and details will be taken at the time of contacting us. All consultant psychiatrists using the clinic are recognised by the major private medical insurance companies such as BUPA and AXA PPP healthcare and they can refer to an appropriate therapist for treatment following assessment. A choice of gender in regards to consultants and therapists is available. Your GP will be informed in all cases when medication is prescribed. Many of our patients are self-funding choosing to be seen privately, particularly in areas with long waiting lists.

Monday - Wednesday 9.00 am to 9.00 pm
Thursdays 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm
Fridays 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
The consultants and therapists hold clinics at various times within these opening hours. 

Funding

Private medical insurance

It is advised that you contact your insurer to check that adequate cover is available.

Self-funding

If you are self-funding, payment is required at the time of your appointment. We accept payment by cash, cheque and credit or debit card. Please note there is a £10 charge per transaction when paying by credit or debit card.

All patients will also be asked to sign a financial agreement to guarantee payments.
