Farleigh Further Education College Swindon Accommodation and facilities

Farleigh Further Education College Swindon has six main residential sites each with it's own identity, working ethos and dedicated team of staff.  This provides learners with the opportunity to experience independent living in range of different settings.

Bath Road is the largest residence comprising of 13 en-suite bedrooms in the middle of Swindon's Old Town.  The main house also has communal living areas, dining room, information technology (IT) room, staff office and a large garden.  All learners are expected to actively engage in a full timetable of college work, social development and independence work.  At Bath Road all learners will be expected to work on independence skills such as laundry, keeping their own bedrooms clean and tidy as well as supported independent travel to and from college each day.  Catering is provided on site with a main meal being produced and cooked each evening.  There is also a small kitchen for learners who are ready to start independent cooking.  Learners will be expected to help with the setting up and clearing away of each meal.

Okus Road, 16 The Mall and 24 The Mall are smaller residences and all situated within a short walking distance from Bath Road residence and can house up to five residential learners. These residences are set up to allow learners who have progressed to more advanced levels of independence and there is a higher expectation on independent cooking and budgeting.

Celsus Grove is a new-build modern house only about 5 minutes walk from Okus Road which means that Farleigh FE College Swindon residences are all within easy reach of each other.  This greatly adds to the sense of a college community and of a working together ethos whilst allowing for each residence to maintain it's own identity and individual community.  Celsus Grove has been designed to allow learners to develop further independence skills in readiness for the next stage in their lives, whether that be higher education or the workplace.

Another current Residence is Withering Road which is also situated a short distance from Bath Road Residence. This is a three Bedroom Residence which is geared to the most independent learners and is not manned by Night Waking Officers. These ;learners are supported by nominated staff who assist them with budgeting, household chores and any other issues that arise.
