North Hill House Care
North Hill House caters specifically for young people with Asperger's Syndrome. Due to difficulties in understanding what other people are thinking and in interpreting the language of everyday social situations, young people with Asperger's Syndrome can pose particular challenges at home, in school and in the community. They have a very poor social understanding and as a result are frequently vulnerable, requiring an empathetic, caring environment in which to gain vital communication and social skills. North Hill House provides a supportive, nurturing and secure care and residential environment to all students. The welfare and care of our students is a priority and we strive to provide a high quality service whilst still retaining a warm and friendly feel.
The values and expectations outlined in Every Child Matters is embedded in all aspects of the work we undertake and our students play a valuable, active and consultative role in the development of our care provision. We have extremely extensive and robust procedures in respect of positive behaviour and anti-bullying and welcome parents views and thoughts in further developing these areas.
North Hill House achieved an 'Outstanding' in all Welfare categories in both 2007 and 2008.
