North Hill House Education
The strength of North Hill House is a highly trained, dedicated team who passionately believe in developing academic achievement and social and communication skills to increase the confidence, independence and organisational skills of all students.
Young people with Asperger's Syndrome are often academically very able; with the majority of students achieving GCSE passes at grade A to C in 2007 and 2008. This has been achieved through specialist teaching in the academic facility that boasts cutting-edge information technology combined with specialist classrooms. North Hill House is passionate about educational achievement and each student's individual programme is carefully structured through an individual education plan (IEP) and individual care plan (ICP).
Educational objectives are achieved in small class settings taught by a team of specially trained teachers and teaching assistants drawing on a range of teaching styles, programmes and strategies. We are aware that one-to-one teaching may be necessary to ensure that the needs of very able students are met alongside the requirements of those requiring additional teaching support. This commitment from the school ensures that individual long-term goals are achieved through a holistic series of focused, attainable and progressive targets in education, communication, social skills and personal care.
North Hill House aims to provide the highest possible quality of teaching. The educational ethos is based on an eclectic view of current teaching styles. We recognise that anxiety reduction and social communication skills are critical to ensuring wider educational successes.
