There are three 10 bed male wards and one 8 bed female ward. Each male ward offers its own unique care pathway:
Garden View focus on patients who are stepping down from medium or low secure facilities, offering a 6 month programme of rehabilitation supported by the multi disciplinary team - key areas are accessing and integrating into community facilities, developing and progressing life skills that are geared to the individuals own potential, psychology support. Further progress may be in the form of transferring to our general psychiatric facility, giving more scope for self motivation in a supportive environment or a close care environment in the community. Patients may also transfer to one of our other wards.
Hillside provides a supportive environment for medium stays of 12 to 18 months, with an ethos of a slow rehabilitative care pathway. Still offering all the professional input of the multi disciplinary team, patients can equally be transferred between the wards if their needs would be better served. Group interactions and tolerance of others is a key feature of the therapy programme, as patients from here are more likely to progress into a residential care facility.
Oak Lodge provides a long stay placement for patients whose mental and physical needs are such, that they are unable to progress into a less dependent facility due their debilitating illness or MOJ restrictions for example, it can provide a home for life or assist patients in making the transition to a care home. Oak Lodge can support patients complex physical needs as well as their on going mental health issues.
Our female only facility - being a small unit, encompasses all our care pathways but with an emphasis on self esteem building, body image and socialisation.
