General psychiatry

Our staff team has the expertise and experience to treat most psychiatric conditions.  These include depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive states, schizophrenia and all major acute psychiatric illnesses.

Addiction treatment programme

The service specialises in addiction treatment for substance and behavioural dependency, such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, relationships and shopping.

Addictions treatment programme includes:

  • FREE assessment to explore the problem in more detail without obligation to continue into treatment
  • FREE weekly aftercare support for 12 months post completion of the 28 day programme
  • FREE family support during and post treatment

Woodbourne Priory Hospital will be holding outreach clinics at Sutton Medical Consulting Centre, Ashfurlong Medical Centre, 233 Tamworth Road, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B75 6DX and will be offering a free and confidential initial assessment for anyone who feels that they need help for an addiction problem. Eating disorders unit

The eating disorder service provides effective, quality care programmes for the successful treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other related conditions.  The specially developed eating disorders programme focuses on the psychological, social, behavioural and physical sides of the illness.

Eating disorder day care services

Our eating disorder day care service provides treatment tailored to the needs of the individual.  The programme involves assistance in re-establishing an appropriate relationship with food, education as to the nature and consequences of eating disorders and guidance in helping people to identify personally with this information.

Child & Adolescent Services

Woodbourne Priory Hospital offers outpatient treatment for children and adolescents from 5 to 17 years. This includes adolescents suffering from a wide range of mental health, emotional and behavioural problems such as depression, trauma, schizophrenia, anxiety, self-harm, conduct disorders and autistic spectrum disorders. Outpatient services for children include access to psychology and psychotherapy and is appropriate for those suffering from:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Eating disorders
  • ADHD

The team provides parenting advice and liaises with schools and other professionals involved in the young person's care. In patient care is provided in a 13 bedded unit from the age of 12-17 years of age.
