The Priory Group, the leading independent providers of mental health care in Europe, has opened its first specialist unit in Norfolk.

Located in Cathedral Street, the Priory Clinic Norwich is a consultant-led outpatient and psychological therapy centre.

The clinic offers a range of treatments and therapies for mental health issues including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, OCS and addictions.   It is led by three consultants and a specialist therapy team.  All are highly experienced in their respective fields of mental health care and addictions and are registered with the relevant professional bodies.

Treatment packages available include:

  • An addiction treatment programme
  • Generalised anxiety disorder programme
  • Group cognitive behaviour therapy programme
  • Stress management and relaxation
  • Individual therapy

Patients suffering from addiction or substance misuse can access treatment while still remaining at home and work. The addiction treatment programme incorporates intensive weekend seminars and workshops with evening groups and individual therapy during weekday evenings. A free 45 minute initial assessment to discuss a patient's treatment options is available.

Treatment can be funded by private medical insurance, Priory hospitals and clinics are recognised by all major private medical insurers, or some patients may wish to self-fund.

Paul Pritchard, hospital director at the Priory Clinic Norwich said: "It can be confusing and difficult for people seeking help to know how to take that all important first step.

"The needs of the patient are paramount and at Priory Norwich we offer a flexible approach to treatment and ensure that individual circumstances are taken into account ensuring the most appropriate treatment plan is drawn up.

"The opening of the clinic will give the people of Norwich and the surrounding area more choice when seeking treatment for mental health or addiction issues."
