Priory Appoints Care Home Managing Director

The Priory Group has appointed Sharon Butler as managing director of its care homes division. Sharon will drive the company's ambitious growth plans in the elderly care sector.
Sharon brings a wealth of experience to the position in both operational and planning roles. She worked within the two largest care home groups, Four Seasons Health Care and Southern Cross Healthcare, before joining Island Construction as projects manager with responsibility for commissioning new care homes in Northern Ireland.
Priory Group is the UK's leading independent provider of mental healthcare. It opened its first care home for older people in Belfast in 2009 and has subsequently opened three homes in England with a number more due to open during 2010.
Priory Group also has specialist care homes for adults under 65 years providing neuro-rehabilitation and nursing care for people with complex physical needs.
Sharon Butler said: "The challenges involved in establishing the Priory Group as a leading provider of care for older people are very exciting. We are moving forward with our growth strategy and establishing a significant number of new homes. The service delivered needs to be a consistently high quality and we expect Priory Group to lead the way in the provision of care.
"The experience the Priory Group has in mental health, complex and long term care transfers very well into older people's services. People are now living longer and have more complex needs and associated health issues that we have the experience to care for.
