New jobs as Priory announce development
Priory Group, Europe's leading independent provider of mental healthcare, is bringing its expertise to Wolverhampton with the opening of Bentley Court, a care home for older people.
The opening of Bentley Court in Wednesfield , a 77-bedded purpose built nursing care home, is part of the first phase of the company's strategy to expand its range of services into the elderly care sector. Priory Group recently opened a care home for older people in Stoke on Trent and currently manages a facility in Belfast. The company has ambitious plans to increase its portfolio of new developments. The Priory Group also has specialist care homes for adults under 65 years providing neuro-rehabilitation, and nursing care for people with complex physical needs.
Bentley Court is expected open in early July 2009 under the leadership of experienced home manager Debbie Rowley, creating up to 70 jobs in the area. The home will provide general and dementia nursing services in single, en-suite accommodation finished to the highest standard. There will also be a choice of lounges and dining areas and a secure enclosed landscaped garden.
The dementia unit will reflect the very latest research in dementia care focussing on a person's abilities. Dementia-signposting will assist with orientation and a reminiscence room will be available.
All residents will have access to carefully planned activities and a wide range of professionals including a hairdresser, chiropodist, optician and GP.
Bhavna Jones, managing director of Priory Group Care Homes Division said: "We are making significant investments in older people's services over the next few years. Bentley Court has been well received by our colleagues in the public sector, particularly the provision of dementia services for the local community in Wolverhampton.
"The Priory Group's experience in mental health, complex and long term care will transfer really well into older people's services. Older people are coming into care and nursing homes later and are more frail. The residents are likely to have more complex needs and associated health issues that we are confident we have the experience to care for."
The home is expected to open in early July and further information is available by calling 0845 2 774 679.
