Priory acquires Oliver House School in Chorley

Priory Group has added Oliver House School in Chorley to its portfolio of 21 specialist educational needs schools and colleges.

The company plans significant investment in the development and refurbishment of the school, which is situated overlooking Astley Park in Chorley.

Oliver House School is a residential and day school for up to 40 boys and girls, aged six to 19, with moderate to severe autistic spectrum disorders and associated learning difficulties. Children and young people are accommodated in houses located within the local community.

Priory Education Services is the country's leading independent provider of specialist education and care for children and young people age five upwards with special educational needs including autistic spectrum disorders (ASD), Asperger's Syndrome (AS), behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and specific learning difficulties (SpLD) including dyslexia. Most of the students have a Statement of Special Educational Need and are funded by local authorities.

The company currently operates two schools in the North of England, Rossendale School in Lancashire and Eden Grove in Cumbria.
