Priory school receives Outstanding Ofsted report

The Priory Tadley Horizon School is celebrating after it was rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for both its specialist education and care provision.
The inspection is designed to assure children and young people, parents, the
public, local authorities and the government of the quality and standard of the
service provided.
Tadley Horizon School, which is situated midway between Newbury and Basingstoke, is a specialist day and residential special school for children and young people who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. The school opened in 2006 and is owned by Priory Education Services which operates similar schools throughout the United Kingdom. The company is a leading independent provider of education and care for young people with special needs.
The report documented that ‘Tadley Horizon School meets its stated aims and in so doing provides an outstanding quality of education and residential care for its pupils.’
It also stated that ‘The arrangements for child protection and the safeguarding of pupils are robust and implemented effectively.
Commenting on the standard of education the report noted that ‘The curriculum and the quality of teaching and assessment are outstanding, and because of this all pupils make outstanding progress.’
It concluded that ‘The school provides an outstanding quality of education that is complemented by boarding provision of equal quality. The quality of teaching and assessment is outstanding, meets the full range of pupils’ needs, and contributes effectively to the outstanding progress made by the pupils.’
