Our facilities have reported a high level of compliance with CQC and other regulatory standards such as those of Ofsted, and we have also achieved ISO 9001:2000 accreditation.

ISO accreditation

The Priory Group has recently been awarded an ISO certification, which is an internationally recognised accredited quality assurance programme and a respected mark of quality across the world. Our accreditation is ISO 9001:2008, a certification of the quality management system of the Priory Group's corporate office. It demonstrates that we have robust quality assurance tools that set out a clear quality and safety framework of standards which need to be in place to ensure the capacity to provide high quality and safe services and also underlines Priory's commitment to providing a quality and safe service to our service users, staff and visitors.

Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission is the independent regulator of health and adult social care in England. It regulates the NHS, Local Authorities, independent companies and voluntary organisations, providing an objective rating for organisations and guidance for the improvement of services. It also protects the rights of people detained under the Mental Health Act and accordingly regulates the facilities of our Healthcare and Elderly Care divisions.

The CQC must inspect independent hospitals at least once every five years and care homes at least once every three years. Inspections rely on a risk adjusted self-assessment

CQuIN

The CQuIN payment framework makes a proportion of providers’ income conditional on quality and innovation. It was launched in 2009 and increases the emphasis on quality of care in the contracts entered into by healthcare providers. These are usually stipulated within provider contracts and reviewed at set intervals. Since the establishment of the CQuIN programme, we have achieved 98.5% of the total conditional income award, which we believe is evidence of the high quality of our services.

DCSF

All Priory Education Services schools are DCSF registered and inspected by Ofsted. Our further education colleges are members of the National Association of Specialist Colleges (NATSPEC) and we work closely with parents and referring agencies from all sectors in order to be responsive to their needs. We also liaise with mainstream schools to develop shared-education packages where appropriate.

Ofsted reports

Ofsted are an official body that inspect and regulate schools and care homes to achieve excellence in the care and education of children and young people.

In 2008/2009, five of Priory Education Services schools and colleges have received Outstanding Ofsted status.  For further details of these individual schools, please click on the links below.
