Therapy
Priory hospitals provide an extensive range of therapy services including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and specialist treatment packages for addictions, eating disorders and mood and anxiety disorders. Treatment is delivered in safe, supportive environments that promote individual care, innovative services and positive outcomes.
Our goal is to strengthen the personal resources of our patients and to help them function independently with greater knowledge, confidence and self-esteem enabling them to get more out of life.

Different therapies used at Priory
As everyone is individual and requires their own treatment plan the Priory utilises many different forms of therapies including:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Couples therapy
- Dialetic behavioural therapy
- Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR)
- Family therapy
- Psychoanalytical psychotherapy
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Systemic therapy
Accessing therapy
- On a session by session basis
- As an inpatient
- Through half and full day therapy programmes
With appointments available in the evenings Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings at most sites, patients can access therapy at the time most convenient to them. Day therapy is ideal when an inpatient stay is impractical or when psychological intervention in a safe, risk-managed environment supported by an integrated multidisciplinary team is preferable to medication.
