Priory was approached after existing providers were unable to adjust pricing and practice to meet Havering's needs. Priory offered a comprehensive range of services through our secure, long-term care and acute healthcare divisions. A key feature was integrated care pathways with seamless transition between services as needs changed, including return to the community as a realistic prospect for some patients.

Full step-down

Our step-down facilities provide a low secure environment, suitable for patients who have made significant progress through their individual programmes. This provides an ideal stepping stone between the confines of a secure ward and an eventual return to independent living. Our patients obtain a greater degree of freedom and autonomy, whilst also benefiting from continued participation in their planned care pathway.

All decisions pertaining to each individual's care is in consultation with the patient and their relevant funders.

Our standards are monitored by the independent regulator the Care Quality Commission and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults.

Care pathway

Our network of high quality hospitals allows us to offer care pathways for patients. Patients who are normally admitted initially to medium secure or low secure conditions move on to lesser secure or step-down services when it is appropriate.
