Applying to be a foster carer

1. You start thinking about becoming a foster carer
2. You contact Priory Fostering Services and we send you an application form and an information pack
3. You complete the application form and return it to us
4. We make an initial visit to answer your questions about us and to enable us to find out more about you
5. Criminal records checks and medicals are completed
6. We begin your home study report and the rest of your statutory checks and references are taken up
7. You attend 'Skills to Foster' course
8. You begin to gather the evidence for your portfolio
9. The home study report (Form F) is given to you to read and sign - you can add your comments to the report if you disagree with anything
10. The report is presented to the independent fostering panel for their consideration
