Quality and regulation

Priory quality and regulation

Priory Education Services has a robust review and reporting procedure in place to ensure that the progress of individual students is monitored effectively.

Individual Education Plans

Priory Education Services use Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure that programmes of education are adapted and modified to meet individual needs. The IEP is linked to the main areas of language, literacy and mathematics, behaviour and social skills. It identifies targets, progression levels and the amount of help and support required, in order to differentiate the specific needs of the individual and maximise opportunities for individual success.

Each young person is recognised through their IEP as having innate abilities, aptitudes and talents. It is our aim to develop these to the full in order to achieve positive outcomes.

Positive outcomes

Many of the children we provide for have experienced difficulties in their previous education which means that their educational experiences have been fragmented, often with long periods out of education completely. Priory Education Services has a positive ethos that promotes self-confidence and self-esteem to nurture stability and individual success. All of our schools provide a positive environment where students can thrive and re-engage in learning and where their specific needs and preferred learning styles are catered for at an individual level.

DCSF

All Priory Education Services schools are DCSF registered and inspected by Ofsted. Our further education colleges are members of the National Association of Specialist Colleges (NATSPEC) and we work closely with parents and referring agencies from all sectors in order to be responsive to their needs. We also liaise with mainstream schools to develop shared-education packages where appropriate.

Ofsted Reports

Ofsted are an official body that inspect and regulate schools and care homes to achieve excellence in the care and education of children and young people.

In 2008/2009, four of Priory Education Services schools and colleges have received Outstanding Ofsted status. For further details of these individual schools, please click on the links below.
