How we can help

Established in 1980, the Priory Group is Europe's leading independent provider of acute mental health care with treatments tailored to each individual. In order for the Priory to help treat, we usually ask for a referral letter from the patient's GP or another medical doctor. This ensures that we are able to provide the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.  However, if you are a self-funder than you can go direct to see a Priory therapy services manager.

Quality and expertise

At Priory, our committed and professional staff provides the highest standards of care, understanding and service for everyone. And you can be assured that we operate stringent procedures and measures to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality care available.

  • Our standards are monitored by independent regulators and our clinical services meet exacting, externally validated standards so you can have confidence in the quality of our service
  • All Priory therapists are accredited and all receive ongoing training

Flexible treatment and funding

  • Rapid access -  appointments can be made within 48 hours
  • Individual treatment plan that reflects pressures at work and at home on an outpatient, day patient and inpatient basis
  • Choice of group or one-to-one therapy sessions
  • Evening and weekend slots available
  • Convenient on and off site clinics available throughout England and Scotland

Our approach

We admit patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our approach is simple…

1. Assessment

With one of our consultants or therapy services manager you can share your problems, discuss anything else that you may be worried about and agree a treatment plan that you're happy with at a time that suits you.

2. Treatment

The treatment will be led by a therapist specialising in techniques to deal with stress and anxiety. You can be treated on an outpatient, referred to day care or be admitted into the Priory for more intensive inpatient treatment.

Techniques can include

  • Self awareness
  • Self Esteem
  • Assertiveness
  • Anger management
  • Cognitive behavior therapy  (CBT)
  • Cognitive analytical therapy
