Stephen McAndrew has 25 years’ experience in UK and international healthcare industries and has worked in senior commercial, operational and regulatory roles in technology, risk management and clinical services businesses.
He joined Priory Group in September 2014 to lead strategic business development. Stephen was previously Commercial Director at Healthcare at Home and Strategic Development Director for the health division of Serco, Managing Director of Healthcare Risk Resources International, General Manager of Lister BestCare and Head of International Marketing and Logistics at Olympus KeyMed. In each of these roles Stephen has led the businesses’ bidding and tendering and has extensive experience of public procurement policy and practice, and relevant EU regulation and UK law.
For 6 years Stephen ran his own successful international consultancy working in risk management and patient safety in the UK, Europe, US and Australia, and spent 4 of those years developing the UK regulatory risk management practice of leading law firm DLA Piper. Stephen served from 2004 – 2014 as a non-executive director of Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and was Vice-Chair from 2006 and Senior Independent Director from 2012. Stephen is a Member of British Psychological Society and the International Society for Quality in Healthcare and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
