Priory brings adult care divisions together to create one of the UK’s leading providers of specialist adult care

The Priory Group has today merged its two adult care divisions, Craegmoor and Amore Care, to create Priory Adult Care, one of the UK's leading providers of specialist adult care.

This new division, which will be operational from 3 April 2017, will be headed by new Chief Executive, Jim Willis, previously Managing Director for the Central region in Priory Healthcare and Partnerships in Care (PiC).

Mr Willis, who first joined the Priory Group in 2012, says; "Bringing Craegmoor and Amore Care together to create Priory Adult Care will allow us to pool our resources in order better to support the needs of our service users and commissioners."

Craegmoor was previously part of the Priory Group of Companies and was a leading national provider of specialist community based support and enablement services for people who have individual needs associated with a learning disability, autism, Asperger syndrome, or a mental health condition. All Craegmoor services have transferred to Priory's new Adult Care Division.

Amore Care was also previously part of the Priory Group of Companies, and offers residential, nursing and dementia care to older people with varying levels of need, allowing all residents to have their own personal care plan, in line with their individual needs and wishes. All Amore care services are now part of the Priory's Adult Care Division.

The new Priory Adult Care division has more than 230 care homes across the country with over 4,500 beds.

Commenting on his priorities for the future, Jim Willis added: "My senior team and I can't wait to meet our colleagues across the country who have done such a fantastic job in supporting our service users and residents with kindness and respect. I am confident that by bringing Craegmoor and Amore Care together, we will be in a better position than ever before to support the excellent care provided by our staff team, whilst enabling us to grow the business in order to support more of the most vulnerable people in our communities."
