The Priory Group of Companies is investing in its specialist services in South Wales with the opening of the Priory Hospital Aberdare.
Based in a totally refurbished property in Aberaman, close to Aberdare, the hospital will provide care for up to ten individuals with a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder or a learning disability, who may also have associated mental health issues.
Service users from Newhouse Independent Hospital in St Fagan's, Cardiff will relocate to the new hospital, which has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the group. A multi-disciplinary team of professionals will care for the service users and support them to maintain links with family and friends and participate in a range of ongoing activities.
Individuals will have the opportunity to participate in tailored education programmes and will be assisted to access relevant community-based learning opportunities and work placements.
The Priory Hospital Aberdare is expected to open in March and local residents are invited to book an appointment at an information clinic designed to allay any concerns about the new facility and help build a positive and supportive relationship with the community.
The clinic is being held on 4th December at Priory Hospital Aberdare and appointments can be booked by calling Paula Robins on 02920 807007 or firstname.lastname@example.org
