About

Dr Sheetal Sirohi has held various substantive NHS consultant posts since 2012, treating a variety of mental health conditions with different levels of acuity. This includes working on inpatient wards, home treatment, community, assertive outreach, psychiatric liaison within general hospitals, and in prison and community forensic teams. She left the NHS in 2017 to work exclusively in the private sector.

She is passionate about quality in mental health care and innovation. Throughout her career so far, she has created virtual patients, and training films for psychotherapy and risk assessment. She also contributed to the development of the Suicide Prevention Strategy for Surrey and promotes digital safety and awareness (‘Digital Risk’) in relation to mental health and the impact of internet. She has also been a video presenter for online mental health portals.

Dr Sirohi facilitates patient engagement through her role with the Royal College Public Education Committee and also by directly participating in initiatives like 'Happy Soul Festival’ for creating awareness of wellbeing and mental health in the Afro Caribbean and Asian communities. She has also established links with mental health charities such as MIND.

She was involved in teaching, training and mentoring psychiatric trainees and continues to present at GP education events. She is also involved in research and is a published author.

Dr Sirohi has been a general adult consultant psychiatrist at Priory Hospital Woking since 2014. Her professional memberships include:

I aim to provide high quality, personalised mental health care, education and support for my patients and their families.

After winning the National Scholarships award in 1997 I pursued a career in general medicine and then chose to specialise in psychiatry. I completed my psychiatric training on the St Georges’ and South West London Rotation.
