The new year breakfast seminar program for Private GPs is beginning soon, the first seminar being on the 19th of February 2013. We have a new speaker presenting at the Cadogon Hotel, London:

Dr Owen Bowden-Jones, Consultant Psychiatrist, Priory Hospital Roehampton.

“Last year 73 new psychoactive substances were released onto the drug market, many legal and available for purchase online.  A new group of users are rejecting established drugs such as cocaine, heroin and alcohol in favour of a Pandora's box of new chemical experiences. The seminar will provide a succinct update on the latest uppers, downers and all-rounders.”

Dr Owen Bowden-Jones is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College.

He works in both the National Health Service and private practice, holding appointments at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Priory Hospital Roehampton and the Westover Clinic in Chelsea.

Dr Owen treats a wide range of psychological problems and has a particular interest in the treatment of addiction and substance-related problems, depression, anxietyobsessive-compulsive disorder and stress. He adopts a holistic approach using both medication and psychotherapy in treating his patients.

As part of this approach, he works closely with General Practitioners and other specialists including psychologists and psychotherapists to provide personalised, co-ordinated care.
