Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common mental health disorder where people feel the need to check things repeatedly, have certain repeated thoughts or feel they need to do certain routines repeatedly.
Dr Anne Perry will discuss the nature and prevalence of OCD as well as a summary of the NICE guidelines. Both psychological treatment and drug treatment will be discussed, as well as self-help resources.
Dr Perry joined the Priory Group at the Priory Ticehurst House, East Sussex in 2006 and was appointed lead consultant for the therapy service there. As well as opening her own private practice, she is an external examiner for the Diploma in Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy at the University of London (St George’s) plus she sits on the Medical Advisory Panel for Maternal OCD, an initiative which aims to raise the profile of OCD in mothers.
