Anxiety disorders have an annual prevalence of 14% and a lifetime prevalence of 21% - Dr Megan Roberts will discuss the assessment of and management options for  these very common and disabling conditions.

Dr Megan Roberts qualified as a Medical Practitioner at St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1986. Since 1989 she has worked in the field of Psychiatry becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1991 and being approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act since that time.

Using case studies, this presentation for GPs will explore how to distinguish those adolescents experiencing normal adolescent difficulties from those with a clinical mood disorder. 

There will be an opportunity to discuss risk, assessment and management of self harm, developmental perspectives and co-morbidities that may be influencing a young person’s presentation in the surgery.
