The role of peer support and group therapy in recovery from addiction

19:00 PM

92B Broad Street

“Only you can do this, but you cannot do it alone.”

This seminar will consider the importance of peer support and participation in group therapy as an aspect of the recovery process from addiction. Specialist staff will present the ways in which these factors may complement the help provided within primary care and other settings and the ways in which the tradition of mutuality within self-help organisations may have much to offer by way of maximising the benefits to be gained from formal treatment interventions.

Information will be provided with regard  a new addiction support group to be held at the Canterbury Priory Wellbeing Centre along with the opportunity to raise matters relevant to the management of such clients within Primary Care.
