International Nurses’ Day – an extra special celebration
Each year Highbank enjoys celebrating International Nurses’ Day but this year’s celebration was a little bit extra special...
One of our inpatients, Tracey, used to be a midwife, a career which she is very proud of. As such, staff ensured that Tracey was able to commemorate her nursing career by celebrating with her peers, sharing stories and recognising her significant contribution to nursing.
Recovery and rehabilitation
Tracey’s recovery and rehabilitation journey since being with us at Highbank has been exceptional and she knows first-hand the difference a great nursing team can have on someone’s recovery. The pride she showed in celebrating her profession is indicative of the many dedicated nurses.
The focus of our celebration was to acknowledge the contribution of all areas of nursing. As well as a coffee and cake morning, we had a large display board in our reception with contributions from both the patients and staff. A poster depicting a humorous yet caring view of nursing from one of our patients took centre stage!
