Meet the Team - Ross Torrance, Lynne House Unit Manager

Ross (RSCN, RGN and RMN) joined the Priory Highbank Centre team in 2009, as the Manager of our children’s unit, Lynne House. He has been in the nursing profession since 1978 when he qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse from Ealing District School of Nursing.Ross Torrance Highbank

His passion for nursing saw Ross travel overseas and in 1980 he moved to South Africa where he continued with Psychiatric nursing for a year before training as a General Nurse at Johannesburg Hospital, where he studied for a Paediatric Nursing Diploma in Science and Art.

Ross’ specialist interest lies in Paediatric Intensive Care and long term ventilation management in the community, which made the move to the Priory Highbank Centre into the position as Unit Manger at Lynne House a natural fit.

He forms strong relationships with the children at Lynne House and his experience, compassion and friendly nature makes a telling contribution to the lives of the youngsters in his care – something that is appreciated by their families and the wider team at the Priory Highbank Centre.

"Some children referred to Lynne House are involved in the social, care or legal system in one way or the other and I am passionate that we do not forget the child within the processes that may surround them.”
