Cragston Court

Cragston Court is a 20-bedded residential care home with nursing. The facility cares for men and women aged 18 years and older, who have enduring mental health needs.

Based in Blakelaw, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, residents are usually referred to us from psychiatric wards, or from the community following a number of re-admissions, or from placements where they haven't made a sustained recovery.

Our approach

We want the best for the people in our care and we place great importance on outcomes and quality of life. We look at what can be achieved for each person by using person-centred approaches, and taking into account their abilities, interests and needs.

We work within a positive environment to encourage confidence, and bring structure, inclusion and opportunity into the lives of our residents. We also have close links to the local community which includes access to:

  • High street shopping access
  • Bus routes
  • Local colleges
  • A local library
  • A post office
  • A gym with swimming pool
  • A range of restaurants

We also aim to support those with even the most intensive of care needs and we do this by providing 24-hour nursing care along with regular reviews of residents' progress led by our mental health (RMN) nursing team.
