The Priory Ghyllside

The Priory Ghyllside is a community house based in the village of Steeton, providing transitional accommodation for service users who no longer require hospital level care, yet continue to experience severe and enduring mental illness and present a level of risk that requires fully supported and staffed accommodation. The house provides an integrated step down service from hospital care as service users are able to access and receive the support of our multidisciplinary team, ensuring that therapeutic relationships are maintained and that continuity of care is received.

The support staff, along with input from the multidisciplinary team, strive to provide a recovery focused service promoting and facilitating the maintenance and development of functional skills, social inclusion and independence.

Ghyllside provides accommodation for four male service users and has close links with the nearby Priory Greenhill community house which provides accommodation for five female service users.

Services offered:

  • A formulation of support and risk plans in collaboration with the service users
  • Support and facilitation of food shopping, budgeting and meal planning sessions, group and individual cooking sessions and household cleaning
  • Provision of access to community groups and voluntary work placements
  • Occupational therapy programmes to build structure and routine and help the service user to maintain optimum functioning
