Lakeside View

Lakeside View is a purpose built mental health hospital for young women transitioning from adolescent to adult services. It is designed specifically for people between the ages of 18-25 years.

The hospital has 24 beds comprising of a 12 bedded unit, an 8 bedded unit and a 4 bedded unit and is versatile enough to manage complex needs in a safe and therapeutic environment, to support and promote independence.

Our approach

We provide individual programmes that offer structured treatment, balanced with building life skills and preparation for adult education, work opportunities and transition into adulthood. Our treatment programmes focus on, but are not limited to:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy
  • Cognitive Analytical Therapy
  • RAID
  • Self-harm- reduction
  • Anger management
  • Relapse prevention
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Motivation and self-management
  • Skills development for independent living
  • Physical healthcare

At Lakeside View, patients learn the skills for independence. Our real work opportunities programme replicates the demands of work and develops employment skills such as responsibility, following structured work times and duties, people skills and personal presentation. We offer programmes such as:

  • Anger management
  • Problem solving
  • Relapse prevention

Fees and Funding

Referrals & Admissions

Women who will benefit from inpatient assessment and treatment at Lakeside View meet the following specifications:

  • 18-25 years of age
  • Have diagnoses of mental illness and or personality disorder
  • Present with challenging behaviours, including self-harm
  • May be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983), be subject to Ministry of Justice Restrictions or Deprivation Safeguards
  • Require a period of stabilisation before they commence their rehabilitation programme
  • Need a safe and secure therapeutic environment to reduce risk to themselves and/or others and build the skills for independence
Require structured treatment with the right balance between therapeutic and social activities
