Penfold Lodge

Penfold Lodge is a care home for 18 adults (male and female) who have enduring mental health problems. We provide low secure, locked and open, recovery focused rehabilitation and community housing to support patients' safe and positive reintegration into the community. Our care includes individualised residential care for adults, requiring treatment of acute or severe and enduring eating disorders.

Our approach

We want the best for people in our care and we place great importance on outcomes and quality of life. We look at what can be achieved for each person, their abilities, interests and needs. We work within a positive environment to encourage confidence, bring structure, inclusion and opportunity in their lives.

Penfold Lodge is committed to ensuring that a recovery model and ethos is the centre of service delivery with measurement of this being realised through the recovery star process which goes beyond focusing on symptoms and problems to be overcome and instead engages with the whole person as a social-being with needs, hopes and ambitions and the belief that everyone has the capacity to recover and rehabilitate.

This philosophy is underpinned by the need to provide the opportunity for independent living, social inclusion and robust risk management. The overall aim of the service is to provide improved quality of life and independence for patients, while working closely with professionals from mental health and social services teams, and other interested stakeholders.

Penfold Lodge aims to improve the quality of life its patients by providing them with the opportunity to look at their mental health issues and take steps to deal with them so that they can function more independently in the large community.
