Therapy and treatment programmes
Therapy Services at the Woodbourne Priory Hospital integrates day therapy for all of the patient groups: adult acute mental health, eating disorders, addictions treatment, and adolescent services. Each patient receives an initial assessment, where a formulation is made, and the therapist and patient agree a package of care. Patients can work with the therapy services team whilst still inpatients, or can receive day patient or out patient care.

We offer packages of extended day care (8hrs plus), full day attendance (3+ therapy sessions and lunch), half day attendance (2+ therapy sessions and lunch), 1:1 therapy sessions with an individual therapist (1hr), and group therapy sessions (1hr or 2hrs).
Our therapy services team are able to accept referrals directly from GPs, removing the need to refer to a Consultant Psychiatrist if this is not necessary. The referral will then be allocated to a skilled and trained therapist who will then contact the individual to arrange an assessment. Our therapists will work closely with GPs and other professionals to maintain clear channels of communication to promote tailored services and ensure the highest standards of care.
Quality and regulation
The Woodbourne Priory Hospital is continually monitored by the independent regulator the Care Quality Commission and benchmarked against the National Service Framework. Where recommendations are indicated, Priory takes immediate action and aims to meet and exceed the highest standards of care.
Accommodation and facilities
The environment we create for patients is as important as the treatment, itself. To this end, each patient has the privacy of his or her own comfortable bedroom, with television, telephone, and en-suite facilities.
Patients are encouraged to have their meals in the main dining room, which offers an excellent choice of dishes. Special dietary requirements can also be catered for.
Access to local gym/leisure facilities is available.
Visiting times
Visiting times and visitors allowed will be individual for each patient depending on their therapeutic programme and must not conflict with group therapy sessions. Please discuss this with the nursing team prior to your visit to the hospital. All visitors must sign in and out at reception and report to the nurses station for general psychiatry and addiction treatment programme. All visitors must leave the building no later than 10.00 pm.

At Priory we offer flexible access to treatment and ensure that individual circumstances are taken into account ensuring the most appropriate treatment plan is drawn up. Different treatment options include:
- On a session by session basis
