Adam has over 10 years of experience of working with people with a learning disabilities, complex needs and / or mental health conditions in varying aspects of care/countries.
He is passionate about services for vulnerable people and ensuring that people with Learning disabilities receive the best care possible. Adam has taken on the challenges at Cefn Carnau together with the team to ensure that as a service we deliver the highest quality of care with managed and measurable outcomes for patients and their futures.
Throughout his career he has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience from working within differing areas such as community settings through to rehabilitation and secure provisions, all of which were a mixture of both NHS and private sector.
Adam has worked within Wales previously and has managed a rehabilitation service so he is pleased to return and share and develop skills and connections.
Prior to this he was a Registered Manager and set up and developed a mental health rehabilitation hospital in Staffordshire for females with challenging and complex needs, personality disorder and post traumatic stress.
He has worked in Children's respite, Personality Disorder services, in both learning disability and mental health settings and specialist autistic services. Adam also has experience of supporting a Psychology team facilitating a Cognitive Skills and Anger Management group for Forensic patients.
Adam has worked for a charity providing key nursing and training for staff in Belarus, working with both children and adults with learning disabilities as part of Chernobyl Children's Charity.
He has also worked at an EBD (Emotional & Behavioural difficulties) school for boys. There he ran an Anger Management course, Life and Social Skills course, Cognitive Skills course, Health and Education course as well as an Empathy and Perspective Taking course. Twinned with the courses he also completed any relevant assessments.
