Dr Johansson is a chartered and registered counselling psychologist with a primary focus on CBT in adult mental health. Dr Johansson is trained primarily in three therapy models: CBT (which she specialises in), psychodynamic and person-centred therapy. As a counselling psychologist, Dr Johansson takes the viewpoint that the client is at the centre of any treatment, and views each client in their unique way and therefore adapts her way of working with them to see what is suitable for them. Although Dr Johansson primarily draws on CBT techniques, she also has an interest in mindfulness and compassionate mind approaches, and also draws on this thinking in her practice.
Dr Johansson takes an interest in working with most general conditions, including depression and anxiety disorders. Dr Johansson's thesis was on the topic of forgiveness, and investigating the process and outcomes of forgiving. Following Dr Johansson's training she worked for IAPT (NHS), seeing adult general patients for CBT therapy.
