Dr Khan completed his undergraduate medical training and degree in healthcare ethics and law in Manchester. He completed core psychiatric training in Leeds and higher training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the West Midlands.
Dr Khan worked as an NHS Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Wolverhampton Child and Family Service from 2011 to 2014. He worked with a range of agencies and professionals to support children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties and severe mental illness. He consulted regularly to the crisis, outreach and learning disability teams in the city.
Dr Khan is passionate about youth mental health from a public health perspective and also has an interest in teaching and training. He brings a holistic approach to his work with young people and families, which includes biological, psychological and social aspects of assessment and treatment.
Dr Khan joined Priory Group as a substantive consultant in 2014.
