Position and qualifications
Dr Waldron has been a staff consultant at the Priory Hospital North London for over twenty years. She has been a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 1974, and a Fellow since 2001.
Dr Waldron was previously consultant psychiatrist at the Royal London Hospital and community psychiatrist to Tower Hamlets Health Authority. She now works part-time in the private sector.
Dr Waldron trained in medicine at the University of Birmingham's School of Medicine, and was one of the first training doctors to benefit from the registrar training programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands. Her specialist registrar training was at the Royal London Hospital, where for a time she had an academic post as lecturer in psychiatry at the London Hospital Medical College.
Research and publications
Dr Waldron had research interests in the areas of perinatal psychiatry, particularly looking at whether depression in the postnatal period could be predicted antenatally. She was also closely involved and associated with the development of a crisis intervention service in East London and the role of community psychiatry in an area of high psychiatric need.
Dr Waldron sees outpatients at the Priory Hospital North London and also has a weekly outpatient clinic at Holly House Hospital in Buckhurst Hill in Essex.
