Dr Helen Nicholas is a chartered psychologist, registered with the Health Care Professions Council. She graduated from the University of Surrey with a PsychD in psychotherapeutic and counselling psychology and works at The Priory Bristol in complex care as well as in independent practice. She specializes in depression, OCD, anxiety, PTSD and trauma and is trained in EMDR.
She is a published author and is committed to the discipline as both a researcher and practitioner. She is the current chair of the British Psychological Society, Division of Counselling Psychology and was previously the chair of the British Psychological Society, South West branch. She has a wide range of experience working in settings such as the NHS adult mental health, Old Age Psychiatry, research, the volunteer sectors and private hospitals.
