Dr Jeremy Broadhead has been a consultant psychiatrist at the Priory Hospital Hayes Grove, since 2002. In 2004 he was appointed Medical Director and in 2012 Group Medical Director for acute mental health services in Priory. He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in the section of General Practice and Mental Health at the Institute of Psychiatry. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Training and previous appointments
Dr Broadhead trained at Oxford and London Universities. He is an Emeritus Consultant of the Bethlem and Maudsley Hospitals, and has worked overseas in the USA, New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Since 2002 he has worked in private practice. He is a consultant psychiatrist at the Priory Hospital Hayes Grove and Medical Director for general psychiatry, for the Priory Group. He has interests in a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, bipolar illness, anxiety disorders (including social anxiety, phobias, OCD and post traumatic stress disorder), psychosis, personality disorders, alcohol abuse. He has extensive clinical experience in the assessment and treatment of these problems. He works with therapists and psychologists with whom he has developed close working relationships over the past ten years. His approach is to provide a thorough diagnostic assessment, and then to give detailed information about treatment possibilities to assist patients to make optimally informed decisions about their care. His academic publications are about the presentation and causes of mood and anxiety disorders.
